Imagine that you are out and about with your kids doing some errands. You pull into a parking lot and jump out of your car to go into an ATM booth to withdraw some cash while your kids are waiting in the car. Suddenly out of nowhere a man is standing in front of you, blocking your way as you try to exit. He says give me your money or I’m going to hurt you. The guy is not very big so you’re a little shocked at his request especially since it’s broad daylight. Then “wham” he kicks wildly at you and strikes your leg sending a deep pain right into your bone. Then he punches you in the face and says I told you give me the money. Now you are paralyzed with shock and fear and cower back up against the wall as he advances and throws a barrage of punches and kicks as you go down and curl up in a ball on the floor not believing this is really happening. Suddenly he is gone just as quickly as he appeared and you are on the ground bloodied, shocked and without your money. Your kids are equally shocked as they watch in horror.

Do you think this could happen to you? This or a similar situation could happen to you or almost anyone under the right circumstances. How would you have reacted as soon as this guy appeared? How would you have reacted after he threw the first punch or kick? Possibly the most important thing in a situation like this is not what your fighting skills are but rather if you can react when you’re having an adrenal rush. What is the best way to keep a distance between yourself and a possible attacker? How should you position yourself? How can you diffuse this situation before anything physical ever happens? Should you act passively or aggressively? What if he has a knife? If you have to fight, what should you do? These questions and many more will be answered at a demonstration we will be having here at the school on Wednesday April 13 at 7:30 P.M. This is a great opportunity to learn some valuable information that could be useful sometime in the future. This event is free of charge and will last 90 minutes. This is for men and women (adults only) we will be having a follow up 4 hour one day workshop for those that may want to go further with this. Folks, it’s a violent world out there so please feel free to come on by and check this out.
